The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is an umbrella department which houses the University of California Police Department, Berkeley, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness. Headed by Chief Mitch Celaya, the combined departments are responsible for all law-enforcement, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness for the Berkeley Campus.
